Step-by-Step Assessment Protocol

Use this full-body-mind approach for each check-in session
</aside>
A. Look — Visual Exam (Pre-Touch)
- Swelling: Monitor if decreasing or stable
- Color: Compare arms/hands for redness, purple areas, paleness, or normal tone
- Bruising: Document spread or fade patterns
- Fingernails: Capillary refill test (1-2 second return = healthy flow)
B. Feel — Gentle Touch Assessment
- Temperature: Note warm/hot/cool regions
- Soft Tissue Examination:
- Soft swelling → Fluid accumulation
- Hard spots → Possible scar tissue or hematoma
- Tender areas → Nerve sensitivity/trauma points
C. Movement Assessment
Guide through each motion while asking:
"Where does it hurt?"
"What type of pain?"
"Does the pain change during movement?"
Test these movements sequentially:
- Finger mobility & fist making
- Wrist flexion/extension
- Wrist lateral movements
- Forearm rotation
- Elbow flexion
- Elbow extension
